Data Viz Project
Ferdio
A Copenhagen agency’s catalogue of chart types, browsable four ways: by family, by the data you have, by what you want it to do, and by the shape it makes.
What you will find
- A page per chart type, with the data it needs and what it is good at
- Browsing by family, input data, function or shape
- A shape index, for when you remember the picture but not the name
What we can learn from it
- 01The same chart can be filed under the data it takes and the job it does; both routes are worth offering
- 02Shape is a real index: readers recognise a form before they can name it
Chart types you will meet there

Waterfall chart
